Black Mesa Source or "The story of Half-Life 1 recreated under the power of Source Engine"
This is actually a stand-alone mod, which can be described in exactly 1 sentence:
"The story of Half-Life 1 recreated under the power of Source Engine"
Although the game uses the absolutely same story, it still manages to make you say "WOW!". The game comes in with fantastic graphics, better models, and especially, some key features, that Source Engine can create, like the great lighting and physics. This game is really interesting with the new, better detailed sounds, which allow you to hear perfectly what the people there are talking. The maps are the same, but they now have some really different look. It could be said that the game is really different, there wasn't almost anything else, except there isn't the other dimension, also known as "Xen". This is all the Half-Life 1 story, except the Xen and further chapters. The ending comes when you get in the portal to Xen. But however, the game, as said, has some changed, but not too much changed parts, so you can feel what the Half-Life 1 was. The game also introduces great graphics on the cost of a bit better performance than you need for Half-Life 2, although, it has more weapons and maps than Half-Life 2, but it has no vehicles at all(except the train, which moves on forward and back on the rails).
Overall score: 9.4
Graphics and Performance score: 9.8
Story (understandable andoriginal) score: 8.7
Choice (maps and weapons) score: 9.5
Engine (lighting and physics) score: 9.7
